Cinco de Mayo Parade


  • 05/04 - Cinco de Mayo Parade - Grand Prairie
    Grand Prairie celebrates Cinco de Mayo with a parade, entertainment, festival foods and other activities! The parade will start at 10 a.m. at the 200 block of W. Main Street. Free entertainment begins at noon and will include GPISD performers, mariachi bands, Folklórico dancers and vocalists. The festival will feature arts and crafts, Tex-Mex festival foods, bounce houses and more!

  • 05/04 - May the 4th Be With You Star Wars Event - Carrollton
    In a galaxy not so far away, the City of Carrollton will celebrate Star Wars Day with a free themed event! Bring your lightsabers and come in costume to enjoy extra-large galaxy-themed video arcade games, crafts, face painting, balloon twisting, laser tag, and photo opportunities. Stick around at sunset for a free showing of a galactic box-office hit under the stars. “May the 4th Be With You” has something for everyone from the young padawans to the Jedi masters. Feel the Force and test your skills in an extreme 35-foot interactive laser tag arena. A variety of food trucks will be on hand to satisfy appetites with crowd-pleasing treats, including cotton candy, snow cones, ice cream, nachos, and funnel cakes. Stop at the Carrollton Public Library’s booth and strike the perfect pose in front of a Star Wars-themed background for a unique photo-op.

  • 05/04 - Etsy Dallas' Spring Bash - Dallas
    Etsy Dallas' Spring Bash will showcase the very best in local handmade apparel, bags, jewelry, home décor, accessories, art, pottery and more. Admission is FREE, and kids and strollers are welcome! Get there early if you want to be one of the first 50 shoppers to snag one of our coveted Bash Bags filled with swag from our talented vendors! We'll have multiple bars on site, plus a roundup of amazing food trucks to choose from. Visit our Make and Take table teaching fun, easy-to-do crafts that you and your kiddos can take home. Be on the lookout for fun photo booths and Snapchat filters throughout the event.

  • 05/04 - Indian American Festival Day 2019 - Coppell
    The Indian American Festival will have many family-friendly events, such as face painting, balloon animals, a bounce house, pony rides, Mehandi, a petting zoo, stilt walking, classical & filmy music & dance, special artists from India, an America's Got Talent participant, a local school band and a GRAND FINALE FIREWORK SHOW! Don't miss this special opportunity!

  • 05/05 - Cinco de Mayo - Richardson
    Celebrate May 5th with a dancing performance and crafts celebrating Mexican-American culture! Sunday, May 5, from 3-4 pm for all ages, in the Basement Program Room of the Richardson Public Library.

  • 05/05 - Lighting Your Path: Survivorship after Breast Cancer - Dallas
    If you have been diagnosed with breast cancer or someone you love has breast cancer, then you need to attend our unique, FREE support event. Both breast cancer survivors (including those with metastatic breast cancer) and their caregivers/loved ones are encouraged to attend. You can learn ways to navigate recurrence and common stumbling blocks to achieving a full, rewarding life while living with breast cancer from nationally-recognized and local breast cancer experts. Caregivers can learn proven strategies for optimal support. There are also social opportunities during the event to create relationships with others in the Dallas-Fort Worth area facing breast cancer, expanding your support network. Exhibits will also be available with products to help your breast cancer journey and giveaways for attendees!

  • 05/05 - Dallas Cinco de Mayo Parade & Festival - Dallas
    Marching bands, dancers, floats, special guests and DJs on every block are all part of the festivities at the Dallas Cinco de Mayo Festival presented by the Oak Cliff Coalition for the Arts. The big parade takes place from 1 pm to 2 pm with festive floats and marching bands, and awards will be held from 2 pm to 3 pm. Shops, restaurants and vendors along Jefferson and beyond will offer samples, discounts, games, prizes and more! There will also be free tailgating and parking available.

  • 05/11 - Cruisin' for a Cause Car, Truck & Cycle Show - McKinney
    Whether you're coming to show off your own car, truck or cycle or to see what others have brought, this is a great event that supports Community Lifeline Center. There is no cost to register a vehicle or to come check out all the amazing vehicles. All years, makes and models are welcome. We will be handing out Dash Plaques to the first 150 registrants. There will be show awards, as well as $1000 in awards, door prizes, and silent auction items! There will also be on-site concessions available for purchase.

  • 05/11 - Asian Festival 2019 - Coppell
    The Asian Festival will have many family-friendly events, such as cultural performances, cultural pavilions, vendor booths, authentic delicious Asian food, and much, much more!

  • 5/16 & 5/23 - Jazz in the Square: Downtown Garland - Garland
    Experience a laid back, relaxing evening in beautiful Downtown Garland while soaking in the soothing sounds of jazz. Come on out to this free event that will be fun for the whole family! You don't want to miss it! Bring your chairs and blankets for this cool jazz series in the square.

  • 05/18 - Dallas Children's Theater Activities - Dallas
    Bring your drama princess or prince to the Children's Park for acting games and fun with Dallas Children's theater! DCT will lead activities in the Children's Park - meet at the learning tree!

  • 05/18 - Oak Cliff Disc Golf Course Extension Tournament & Open Play - Dallas
    Join us at Oak Cliff Founders Park for a disc golf tournament and open play. We'll be unveiling 9 new holes, giving demonstrations, having open play, and having a multi-skill level tournament! Don't play? No worries! We'll also have a biergarten with beverages and snacks! Come hang out and enjoy incredible views of downtown. No advance registration required to play. Bring $10 for tournament play! Great prizes will be awarded for the winners in each category! Bring your own disc, purchase one on-site, or check one out from our on-site disc library.

  • 05/26 - Memorial Day Music Fest - Dallas
    Join us as the lawn comes alive with the Park's first-ever music festival. Check out performances across multiple stages throughout the day and into the night. Each stage will feature music from a variety of genres to satisfy lovers of rock, jazz, country and classical. Between performances, explore vendor booths, play in the family game zone, have your face painted and feast on bites from our famous food trucks!

    Are you looking for a truly positive, feel-good entertainment experience? The Contemporary Chorale's spring show, "What a Wonderful World," is just what you need! Even with the difficulties in our world today, truth, love, hope, and joy can be found if you simply open your eyes.     Join us for a true Mother’s Day tradition, The Mother of All Runs, taking place on Sunday, May 12 at our 33rd annual morning run! We offer a 10K, 5K and Kids K through a scenic neighborhood course. All runners will enjoy our delicious bagel buffet with schmears and fresh fruit, flowers for mom, and all runners get a cool t-shirt and a finisher’s medal!

  • 05/12 - Movies at the Statler: Grease feat. Lorenzo Lamas - Dallas - $10-$125
    Movies at the Statler features an up-close and personal Q&A session with celebrity actors who starred in the night's featured film. At various times throughout the movie, the celebrities will be interviewed, and guests will receive insight from the actors as they pull back the curtain on their roles and share experiences on set during the making of the movie. Age restrictions for each event follow regular cinema-rated standards.

  • 5/17-5/18 - 9th Annual Mesquite Meander - Mesquite - $10
    Join Historic Mesquite, Inc. and the Mesquite Community Theater for the 9th Annual Mesquite Meander, a history lesson and a stroll through the historic Mesquite Cemetery. Enjoy a unique experience as actors tell the stories of Mesquite’s early citizens. Hear actors portray early residents of the community as they tell their stories and learn to appreciate the outdoor museum that is the cemetery. Tours are scheduled every 10 minutes and are limited in size. This event is not suitable for small children.

  • 5/17-5/19 - Pinocchio - Dallas - $25-$105
    Come along as mischievous Pinocchio embarks on a whirlwind quest to become a real boy. With its phenomenal costuming and innovative choreography, Pinocchio is a spectacle for the ages. The kindhearted carpenter and the charming puppet come to life in this captivating fable, sure to be adored by young and old alike.

    The Dallas Pet Expo™ is a woofing, chirping, and meowing good time for the whole family! Four-legged friends can receive "spa treatments" from local groomers, sample delicious treats, and try on the latest in furry fashions; their humans will enjoy interacting with top trainers and learning pet-care tips from animal welfare organizations. Rounding out the list of activities is an agility demonstration, pet talent and costume shows, and an exciting pet/owner look-alike contest! The highlight of the event is definitely the adoptable animals showcased by local non-profit rescue groups. Who knows, you may just come home with a new family member!

    Dallas Observer Iron Fork is a grand tasting event that will take place on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Centennial Hall at Fair Park. All tickets include unlimited food samples, alongside 8 wine, beer & cocktail samples! Additional drink sampling cards available for purchase at the event. Ages 21 and up.

  • 05/03 - Tacos & Tequila Walk at Trinity Groves - Dallas - $15
    Here’s your chance to walk in and out of side-by-side restaurants and shops at Trinity Groves, where 12 different concepts will create their own versions of tacos and tequila cocktails! Ever tried an Italian taco? How about a Mediterranean taco? A Sushi taco? A Chocolate taco? Don’t miss out on this one-time-only event!     Rich culture is celebrated through food in the heart of Oak Cliff, which is known for its diverse eateries, bakeries and specialty shops that serve up the flavor for any craving. Taste of Oak Cliff festivities will take over several blocks in the heart of the neighborhood and turn them into the ultimate foodie experience! This event will feature numerous local Oak Cliff restaurants, chef demos, spirits and desserts.

  • 5/8, 5/9 & 5/10 - Chocolate, Cheese & Bubbles: Mother's Day Edition - Dallas - $40-$45
    What more can be said about three of life's greatest pleasures? Join us as we explore each of these delights individually and try out some interesting pairings.

  • 05/09 - Downtown Plano Art & Wine Walk - Plano - $15-$20
    The Downtown Plano Art & Wine Walk will feature samplings of select wines around the neighborhood, while guests enjoy live music, local art, and a little shopping. Attendees will receive a commemorative glass, a tasting card and a wine guide. There are approximately 20 wine stops each month, with each location serving a different wine.

  • 05/11 - 2019 Cupcakes for a Cause - Dallas - Free-$15
    Cupcakes for a Cause is a fundraising event for a worthy cause. There’s nothing in it for us besides the pure joy of being able to share and eat fabulous, original cupcakes with children in our community. All profits from the event go to LEAP Global Missions, a Dallas-based nonprofit organization that provides free specialized surgical care to children living in impoverished regions around the world. Our event features delicious cupcakes created by bakers from all around the DFW area. They donate and bring cupcakes to the event, and you come eat the cupcakes! This fun event is open to cupcake lovers of all ages. After the event, take cupcakes home to share or enjoy later! (They freeze well!)

  • 5/15 & 5/16 - Italian Wine & Cheese - Dallas - $40
    Cheese and wine from the home of my ancestors...to say that I'm fond of the bounty of Italy is an understatement! We'll taste loads of Italian goodies from robiolas to the undisputed "King of Cheese." Come join us as we explore "the boot!"

  • 5/22, 5/24 & 5/30 - Patio Wines & Cheese - Dallas - $40
    It's hot! Time to pop open some rose or cool whites! We will explore the perfect wines to enjoy on a hot summer evening and the cheeses that pair perfectly with them.

  • 05/23 - Plano Magazine Beer Walk - Plano - $14-$56
    Do you love craft beer? Want to sample 30+ beers from Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma craft breweries, all in air-conditioned comfort? Then you’re in luck, because we’re bringing the Beer Walk back to The Shops at Willow Bend for 2019. The Plano Magazine Beer Walk combines the two favorite things of any self-respecting Plano citizen: shopping and drinking beer. This is the perfect afternoon activity filled with craft brews, live music, prizes, a chance to meet the brewers, pop-up vendors and Willow Bend store discounts. Participants will check-in, grab a collectible glass and sampling map, stroll through the shopping center and enjoy samples of craft brews at 12+ stops. This event is family friendly and guests are welcome to bring their children along to shop.

  • 5/29 & 5/31 - California Cheese & Wine - Dallas - $40
    One of the greatest wine producing states is also one of the greatest cheese producing areas. Explore California's rich bounty! From David Jacks' first wheel of Monterey Jack in 1882, to the fantastic artisan producers making cheese today, we will discuss the history and origins of California cheese and wine.

  • 5/31-6/2 - Taste Addison - Addison - $5-$80
    A celebration of food, music, and fun, Taste Addison dishes out the best food and flavor with a healthy side of jam. A three-day menu of fun, Taste Addison delivers the tastiest eateries with the best music at Addison Circle Park. The festival will feature dozens of Addison restaurants providing the opportunity to sample their signature dishes and talented chefs teaching their insider secrets. Event-goers can also listen to some of the country’s favorite entertainers, including Walker Hayes, Josh Abbott Band, Deep Blue Something, Spin Doctors, Plain White T's, Smash Mouth, and The All American Rejects.

  • 05/02 - Dallas Corporate 5K - Dallas
    Dallas’ largest office party, the Dallas Corporate 5K Benefiting United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, invites companies and organizations to participate in a fun-filled and healthy evening with their peers. The event starts with a 5K run/walk along Trinity Groves and is topped off with an after-party including food, drinks, vendors and other engaging activities. All volunteers will receive a T-shirt and a Food/Drink Ticket to use on May 2 at some of the local restaurants to grab some tasty bites or a drink after their shift!

  • 05/04 - Bonton Spring 5K - Dallas
    The truth of it all is that races can't exist without volunteers. We are now offering points for each race you volunteer for, accruing to equal a free race. Please join us for this community event bringing awareness to the mission of BridgeBuilders and to raise funds to see that mission come to fruition.

  • 05/04 - Etsy Dallas' Spring Bash - Dallas
    Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the 2019 Etsy Dallas' Spring Bash! The Bash is a unique art show that is organized and managed by a team of volunteers. We've been doing it since 2007. All volunteers will receive recognition in our blog after the show. If you own a crafty business, this is a great way to get a behind-the-scenes look at one of the region's most popular and beloved art shows. Volunteer activities include load-in, decorating, greeting shoppers, handing out Bash Bags, giving artists breaks during the show, general floating, helping in the photo booth, clean-up, and load-out.

  • 5/10-5/12 - Texas Scottish Festival & Highland Games - McKinney
    The Texas Scottish Festival & Highland Games runs on Volunteer Power. Please share your talents and energy to ensure the longevity of this long-established tradition.

  • 05/11 - Red Balloon Run & Ride - Plano
    Enthusiastic volunteers are crucial to our success. By volunteering, you will be supporting thousands of people who are raising money for Children's Health and the more than 700,000 kids who are treated at Children's each year. There are a variety of areas where we need your help. Please consider volunteering your time - it'll make a difference in the life of a child!

  • 05/11 - 2019 Cupcakes for a Cause - Dallas
    Cupcakes for a Cause is a fundraising event for a worthy cause. There’s nothing in it for us besides the pure joy of being able to share and eat fabulous, original cupcakes with children in our community. All profits from the event go to LEAP Global Missions, a Dallas-based nonprofit organization that provides free specialized surgical care to children living in impoverished regions around the world. Volunteer opportunities include set-up/pre-event helper, baker sign-in, ticket sales, greeter, raffle ticket sales, cupcake baker assistant, hair color station, Zorb ball racing, bounce house, cupcake eating contest, cupcake competition moderators, cupcake decorating station, water & food stations, and after event clean-up. If selected to volunteer, your volunteer assignment and schedule will be emailed to you.

  • 05/12 - Bagel Run - Dallas
    Whether it’s just you, a group of friends, or perhaps your entire office, the Bagel Run needs your help! Have fun filling water cups and passing them out to runners as they pass. Dress up and make it fun with your friends. Signs and high fives are always appreciated. Volunteers will receive an awesome volunteer t-shirt!

  • 05/18 - TangoTab's Feed the City: Mesquite - Mesquite
    Prior to the event, head over to the store and pick up the product. The more product that is brought, the more meals we will make. We request that each person attending brings some product.
