  • Weekends - Summertime Concerts in Old Town - Albuquerque
    Every weekend from May to August, Historic Old Town is the best place to be! With beautiful plazas, great food, unique local shops, and live music at the gazebo, it is the perfect way to spend a day with local friends, family and out-of-towners. Check out the lineup on our website for the variety of new performances every weekend. 

  • Tuesdays - Tasty Tuesdays - Albuquerque
    Every Tuesday (weather permitting), we meet at Hyder Park for a feel good time honoring local community, food trucks, live music, yoga, kids and families! Tasty Tuesday is organized by the food trucks, musicians, yoga instructors and other fun-loving minions. It's about people doing what they love in a way that builds community and brings people together out-of-doors. Please remember to support the organizers, whether it's ordering food from a food truck, dancing to the music or finding your flow with the yoga instructor.

  • 05/04 - Cinco de Mayo on the 4th! - Albuquerque
    Join us for a Cinco de Mayo Celebration! Come see the children from our community schools perform with the lovely Ballet Folklórico Fiesta Mexicana Dancers. It will be a great community and family event! There will be arts & crafts, Ballet Folklórico dancers from Cochiti and Longfellow Elementary School, guitar players from Eugene Field Elementary School, and Ballet Folklórico Fiesta Mexicana dancers!

  • 5/4-5/5 - Come Fly a Kite - Edgewood
    Springtime in New Mexico brings wind and sunny skies, creating perfect conditions for the free 18th Annual Kite Festival at Wildlife West Nature Park in Edgewood. Join the fun - the skies will be filled with colorful kites of all shapes and sizes throughout the weekend. Bring your own kite, buy one at the Festival, or watch professional stunt kite fliers maneuver their kites expertly in the wind.

  • 5/5-5/6 & 5/8-5/9 - Bard Crawl: Romeo and Juliet - Albuquerque & Bernalillo
    Serious actors. No director. One rehearsal. In a bar. Duke City Rep invites you once again to enjoy Shakespeare as it was done in his day. Albuquerque’s breweries house the tragic tale of Shakespeare’s most famous star-crossed lovers. It’s a story of warring families and the doomed, undeniable love of Romeo and Juliet – like you’ve never seen it before! Smartphones, appetites and cat calls are all welcome. No tickets or admission for this show, but register/RSVP to receive the address, showtime and parking info via email. Consider bringing small bills, in case you wish to show your support for the actors. (Debit/credit cards will be accepted too!) Venues are 21 and up, but kiddos are permitted with a guardian. Recommended for ages 13 and up.

  • 05/11 - San Ysidro Day Celebration 2019 - Albuquerque
    For hundreds of years, New Mexicans have celebrated San Ysidro, the patron saint of farmers. The ancient annual procession and blessing of San Ysidro and Santa María de la Cabeza will commence at 10am at the corner of Isleta and Arenal SW with a procession from the San Ysidro Carousel to Sanchez Farm. The blessing is a beautiful blend of indigenous and Spanish Catholic traditions. Lunch will be served following the blessing. Prayers to these traditional guardians of rain, water, and farmers will take place at Sanchez Farm.

  • 5/11-5/12 - 22nd Annual Placitas Studio Tour - Placitas
    Over sixty Placitas artists will open their doors and welcome guests to the fascinating spaces where their artwork takes shape. Come explore the many unique artist studios in the rolling foothills of the northern Sandias. Meet and talk directly with the artists about their work, their environment, and their latest creations. The tour offers a wide array of new arts and crafts at the studio locations. We love our magnificent views of the Sandia Mountains and the natural beauty of Placitas.

  • 5/11-5/15 - Spring 2019 Model Train Show & Swap Meet - Los Lunas
    There will be sales tables set up for all things related to the model train hobby and crafts. There will be a temporary layout set up and running for your viewing pleasure. Whether you are new to the hobby or an expert, this is a great opportunity to visit with fellow enthusiasts, shop, ride the Rail Runner, visit local restaurants, and watch our HO scale trains run on the layout.

  • 05/12 - Mother's Day in Old Town - Albuquerque
    Bring Mom out for a day of entertainment in Historic Old Town. Show her how much you appreciate her with a stroll through the plaza shops, a variety of food trucks and local eateries, and live music performed at the gazebo. There will be plenty of exciting things happening around the gazebo. Mom can add one more to the family when she meets an adoptable pet from Albuquerque's Animal Welfare. A beautiful flower arrangement can be purchased for mom from Old Town Flowers, and gifts of all shapes and sizes can be found from the shops throughout Historic Old Town.

  • 05/18 - Kirtland Air & Space Fiesta - Albuquerque
    This FREE and open-to-the-public air show is scheduled for May 18, 2019. NO tickets are required. Team Kirtland looks forward to providing a spectacular show. Come out and join the fun! A series of ground demonstrations and flying acts will take place, including the USAF Thunderbirds. The 2019 Kirtland Air & Space Fiesta is a great opportunity for the community to get close to the aircraft and talk to the people who make our Air Force the world's best. So, come on out May 18 and #crossintotheBlue!

    You are invited to a 75th Birthday Party for the AT&SF 2926 Steam Locomotive! Enjoy birthday cake, ice cream and soft drinks with the crew of the New Mexico Steam Locomotive and Railroad Historical Society!

  • 5/18-5/19 - Turquoise Trail Arts Festival - Cedar Crest & Sandia Park
    For the 5th year, local artists will display/sell their works along the Turquoise Trail. We have some new artists, along with those from past years. There are only 2 venues again this year: Hey Mavis and Paa-ko Event Center. Look for the turquoise signs and flags to follow the trail for this free event. The What's Cookin' food truck will be serving NM fare like tamales, burritos, etc. at the Hey Mavis location. It's worth the trip!!!

    Dress as your favorite character from the film We will be giving away passes to AFMX 2019 for the top 3 costumes! Luke Skywalker joins forces with a Jedi Knight, a cocky pilot, a Wookiee and two droids to save the galaxy from the Empire's world-destroying battle station, while also attempting to rescue Princess Leia from the evil Darth Vader.

  • 05/04 - The Frog Prince of Spamalot - Albuquerque - $6-$8
    Hyronomous A. Frog doesn’t fit in anywhere. After learning that he used to be a handsome prince, he goes on a quest to get a kiss from a beautiful maiden in order to break the curse that turned him into a frog. Hilarity ensues as he finds his way to the castle of Princess Gladiola and tries to learn to walk and eat with proper etiquette.

  • 05/04 - Traditions! Folklórico Dance Spectacular - Albuquerque - $15-$17
    The main-stage evening show begins at 7:30 pm, with a pre-show live mariachi concert beginning at 6:30 pm in the lobby and moving to the auditorium at 7 pm. Come early and enjoy a full night of music and dance! Traditions is a folkloric dance showcase featuring three New Mexico ensembles, including Ballet Folklórico Santa Fe, Albuquerque’s Grupo Folklórico Desoluna, and northern New Mexico’s Baile Ilusión, accompanied by Banda Neluayotl from Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico. The participating groups will focus on presenting traditional pieces that represent the beautiful, authentic dances and music of Mexico.

  • 5/4-5/5 - Rio Grande Valley Celtic Festival - Bernalillo - $10-$11
    The Rio Grande Valley Celtic Festival has been a part of Albuquerque for 31 years. The Festival has been held in several places over the years, and this year, we are happy to announce we will be moving to Rotary Park in Bernalillo, NM. We will have all our usual merchandise and food vendors as well as some new ones! As always, we will have our family friendly activities like the Children’s Area, live music, Heavy Scottish Athletics, Clan Row, Celtic dance demonstrations, and, of course, bagpipes!

  • 5/4 & 5/15 - Maker Lab for Grades 2-6 - Albuquerque - $7-$10
    In Maker Lab, you can join the maker movement with a variety of making and tinkering challenges. Children develop and build problem-solving and engineering skills as they explore different aspects of technology. This month, we have Robot Challenges! We will engineer machines that can build or do battle, as well as solve complex problems and challenges!

  • 05/05 - Cinco de Mayo Concert - Albuquerque - $15-$45
    In the season-closing concert, Maestro Roger Melone conducts the Chorus and NMPhil musicians performing Emma Lou Diemer's joyful Three Madrigals with pianist Daniel Cummings, Fanny Mendelssohn's wondrous Gartenlieder and Ariel Ramírez's spellbinding Misa Criolla. Performed twice at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, the much-admired Misa Criolla will elicit wonder and happiness with its rhythms and musical influences of traditional South American folk music.

    A two-time Grammy Award winner founded in 1961 by Natividad “Nati” Cano, Mariachi Los Camperos has played a fundamental role in the development of mariachi music in the United States by training and mentoring new generations of musicians. Mariachi Los Camperos continues to preserve the richness of mariachi music and culture by showcasing and passing on the traditions and opening doors to influence the next generation of mariachi musicians throughout the world.

    The New Mexico Philharmonic performs a special Mother's Day concert. There will be lawn seating and food and drinks available for purchase. Guests are welcome to bring blankets or chairs and picnics. No alcohol or glass can be brought into the zoo. At 1 pm, the children of the New Mexico Philharmonic's Young Musician Initiative will open the performance. At 2 pm, the New Mexico Philharmonic will perform.

    The biennial Fiesta (every odd year) is an exciting and dazzling exhibit, full of color and energy. There are hundreds of beautiful fiber art pieces, as well as vendors, special exhibits, featured artists, classes, and demonstrations. Funds from the Fiesta allow the Albuquerque Fiber Arts Council, Inc. to award individual and guild scholarships, and to produce the biennial Spring Show (a free every event year).

  • All of May - Rail Yards Market - Albuquerque
    All Aboard at the Rail Yards Market! We are always looking for individuals that want to contribute their time and integrity through the service of volunteering. We appreciate the time you have to share, so in exchange for helping us for 2-4 hours each Sunday, you will receive monetary compensation in the form of a token, a type of money system used here at the rail yards. The token can be used for all fresh produce, delectable food, and exciting art you see at the market every Sunday. There are also inclusive volunteer and vendor potluck events that you can join in on and put your tokens towards outside of the busy day of the market. Volunteering Opportunities are available from 8am-3pm on Sundays within the season that we are operating.

  • 5/4-5/5 - Run for the Zoo - Albuquerque
    Volunteers…We need you! The 34th Annual Run for the Zoo invites you to be part of the fun without running the Run! All Volunteers receive an official “Zoo Crew” t-shirt that gains you FREE entry into the Zoo on Run Day. There are a variety of jobs available the day before the run and the day of the run. We need volunteers for packet pick-up, pre-event setup, water stations, zoo crew, and post-event cleanup.

    It’s time for the annual Great American Cleanup! The City of Rio Rancho's Keep Rio Rancho Beautiful Division invites volunteers of all ages to take part in this year’s Great American Cleanup. Activities include cleaning public lands, right-of-ways (roads), illegal dumpsites, vacant lots, school campuses and parks. Advance registration by April 30 is required to receive cleanup supplies.   • 5/23-6/2 - Albuquerque Beer Week - Albuquerque
    Want to help spread your love of craft beer? Want to help make ABQ Beer Week the best one yet? Join us as a volunteer and help us promote and document the wonderful beer in our community. ABQ Beer Week has grown tremendously over the years, and we need your help to make sure 2019 is the best year yet! We need volunteers to help run social media, the ABW website, and give a hand to getting the all-important event schedule handed out.

  • 05/26 - ABQ Blues & Brews 2019 - Albuquerque
    We are always looking for volunteers to help out at the festival, and being a volunteer gives you the chance to join the party! If you are accepted as a volunteer, you will be assigned a 3.5- or 6-hour shift. Volunteers will receive a festival volunteer t-shirt and lunch. Note that volunteers do not receive a free pass to the event. You must be 21 or older to apply.
