The Boston Marathon: How to Help

by David Sung

If you would like to help the city of Boston in light of recent events, or you need to find a loved one, please use the following information:

The Boston Marathon is posting updates on the events and information for runners on their Facebook page.

If you need to find the status of a loved one in Boston, the Red Cross has set up a portal here, where residents and visitors can confirm their ‘safe’ status. Of note, the Red Cross does not need additional blood donations at this time, but follow their Twitter account to stay updated.

Google has set up a similar page to help people convey their status so their friends and family can know that they are ok. That page can be found here.

You may also call the Boston Police Help Line to locate loved ones at: 617-635-4500

Investigations are still underway. If you have ANY information about the explosions, please contact the Boston Police tip line at: 1-800-494-TIPS. No detail is too small.

Americans have shown great strength in the face of tragedy. We wish everyone in Boston well and hope some of you find these resources helpful.
