The city of Morris, Illinois can trace its beginnings all the way back to 1834, when the very first structure, a log cabin, was constructed in the area. The Village of Morris was officially established eight years later in 1842. A prominent feature of the fairgrounds is a one-third mile oval track for the Grundy County Speedway. Over the years, a number of famous race car drivers have circled this track.
