    Enjoy a free Stroller Fit class with Baby Boot Camp! This 60-minute class is aimed at moms of all fitness levels: pregnant moms, new moms and moms with one or more stroller-aged children. The interval-based classes will incorporate cardio, strength and core for a total body workout!

    The festival will feature Julius Caesar and As You Like It. In Julius Caesar, Caesar returns as a glorious war hero, and the people’s victory celebration spills into the streets.     Nickelodeon is giving kids and families the ultimate Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle experience with this summer’s ‘Sewer Studio Tour.’ The ‘Sewer Studio Tour’ will allow kids to create their own dynamic stop-motion videos with Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures. The best videos will have the opportunity to be featured on Nickelodeon platforms!

  • 08/07 - Movie Night: Forgetting Sarah Marshall - Houston
    Forget about trekking to the theater for your movie fix and head to Market Square Park for a free outdoor screening of Forgetting Sarah Marshall (R). Devastated Peter (Jason Segel) takes a Hawaiian vacation to deal with the recent break-up with his TV star girlfriend (Kristen Bell).   • 08/12 - Storytime at Frolic's Castle - Houston
    Join Ms. Jana Banana as she reads and acts out some of her favorite stories from in front of Frolic’s Castle. Plus, parents can relax with a cup of coffee and breakfast from Nestlé Toll House Cafe or Cinnabon! This fun and interactive event is aimed to spark the love of reading for listeners both young and old!

  • 08/14 - Journey Through China - Houston
    Join Houston’s Dance of Asian America for an interactive performance of authentic Chinese dance. Audiences will learn about the culture, traditions, and dances of the numerous ethnic groups found throughout China. This interactive performance involves audience members with dance props and dance movements.

  • 8/14-8/18 - Mandala Sand Painting - Houston
    Tibetan Buddhist monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery in southern India will construct a mandala sand painting and perform special ceremonies. During this ritual, millions of grains of sand are meticulously placed in order to purify and heal the environment and its inhabitants.

  • 08/15 - Movies at the Lawn: Zootopia - Sugar Land
    The Lawn at First Colony Mall presents a free movie screening of Disney’s Zootopia, where police officer Judy Hopps finds herself paired up with a con artist, Nick Wilde, in an effort to solve a crime that impacts all of the many diverse residents of the massive city.

  • 08/16 - Jeremy McQueen's Black Iris Project - Houston
    For their Texas debut Jeremy McQueen’s Black Iris Project will be performing a collection of their most dynamic works including the world premiere of The Storm, a new ballet inspired by the Middle Passage, Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Harvey.

  • 8/17 & 8/24-8/25 - Peter Max: The Retrospective - Houston
    This colorful showcase will offer art lovers and collectors the opportunity to view and acquire Max’s iconic works, collected and praised internationally since the sixties. The event also marks Woodstock’s 50th Anniversary, a celebration of Peace, Love, Freedom, and Music; all significant sources of inspiration in Peter Max’s line of work.

  • 08/18 - Back to School Waterworks Spectacular - Houston
    Before you go back to school, cool off at our Waterworks Spectacular at The Lawn! Challenge your friends to a race on our 36-foot long slip and slide or race to the finish inside a giant bubble in our “Criss Cross Course”!     Summer is a really beautiful season in Memorial Park! Join our staff for a free hour-long walk highlighting some of the stunning flowers that bloom during the hottest time of year. Participants should expect to walk about 1-2 miles on potentially uneven surfaces, please wear comfortable closed-toed walking shoes and bring water.

    We always need some sort of help to give you the highest quality support possible. Positions are available for aid stations, finish line, course marking and other areas.   • 8/30-9/1 - BrewMasters Craft Beer Festival - Galveston
    This is the tenth year of Brewmasters Craft Beer Festival! The past nine years were a blast, both exciting and entertaining (most everyone loosens up after a few glasses of beer). So, here we are in the tenth year, and once again we get to partake in three of our more favorite pastimes - food, friendship and beer! Our volunteers' hard work makes Brewmasters Craft Beer Festival a success as well as an enjoyable and memorable experience!
